Activist lawyer Guo Feixiong (郭飞雄) has been placed under house arrest in a hostel in the Hubei Province. He was stopped by the police while trying to return to his law firm in Beijing.

Tibetan nun Phuntsog Nyidron, who was detained for 15 years and released in 2004, has been exiled to the U.S., according to the San Francesco-based Dui Hua Foundation. The foundation said that it is uncertain whether her release is related to Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to the U.S. in April.
