China Announces More Pollution Controls
New York Times, August 01, 2008
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/01/sports/olympics/01china.html

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and top governments of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei issued a Public Announcement on emergency pollution control measures should air quality not meet the necessary standards during the duration of the Olympics and the Special Olympics. The measures include shutting down over 200 factories and restricting traffic bans further. The measures however do not include the previously proposed removal of 90% of all vehicles from Beijing roads.
