Five Chinese villagers injured by police in land protest, group says

It is reported that five villagers in southwestern China had been assaulted and detained by Sichun Police for mobilizing over 2,000 villagers to participate in a demonstration, demanding for reasonable compensation for land conscription of the local authority. Local government admitted the confrontation but denied detention of villagers.
