Nineteen Foreigners Held in Xinjiang

Regional Communist Party Secretary Wang Lequan said that authorities have arrested19 foreigners on terrorism charges in Xinjiang yesterday. It is believed that they entered the region to commit sabotage.
The crackdown confirmed the launch of an official campaign against militants from Xinjiang's Uygur minority who have been struggling to make the region an independent state called East Turkestan.
