Xu Wanping, the detained internet writer who was charged with "inciting subversion of state power", was tried on Thursday, October 3, 2005 by the Chongqing No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court. A closed trial was held because the case involved state secrets. A verdict has not yet been announced.
