Released Dissident Vows to Appeal
Radio Free Asia, July 01, 2008
http://www.rfa.org/english/news/china/china-dissident-appeal-07012008193536.html
Zha Jianguo (查建国) was released on June 28 and has rejected attempts by police to keep tabs on him after his release. He was jailed nine years ago for "incitement to subvert state power" after he helped set up the Beijing and Tianjin branch of the banned opposition China Democracy Party (CDP). He says in his first public interview that he will continue to appeal his sentence as a miscarriage of justice.
