On June 8, the Public Security Bureau of Hebei Province formally informed the family of human rights activist Guo Qizhen that he had been arrested for inciting others to subvert state power. Guo was taken away from his home by police on May 12. Guo's lawyer believed that the arrest was related to his hunger strike in support for human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng.
