北京大学燕南网站被勒令关闭
Radio Free Asia, 03/10/2005
Beijing Communication Authority ordered to close a university website, Yannan Wang, on September 30, citing no reasons for the closure. The move is believed to target on He Weifang (賀衛方), a law professor of the university who had petitioned to the Principal against closing down a student website. He refused to take PhD students in protest. He's academic activities have been reportedly restricted to a minimum level and his daily activities have been closely watched by the government.

Panyu clears village chief of corruption
SCMP, 01/10/2005
Panyu City government in Guangdong Province announced in an official statement that Taishi villagers had agreed to withdraw their protests to remove the village chief Chen Jinsheng, ending the three month long struggle. The statement said that dispute was "stirred up" by "irresponsible" media and villagers were now confident of the Village Chief. Yet, villagers refused to comment on the incident.
