汉源事件被捕村民被秘密处决 (Demonstrator Chen Tao Secretly Executed in Sichuan)
Radio Free Asia, December 06, 2006
http://www.rfa.org/mandarin/shenrubaodao/2006/12/06/hanyuan/
It has been reported that the death penalty for Chen Tao (陈滔), who was arrested in 2004 for protesting the demolition of farmers’ housing, was ratified by the Sichuan Higher People's Court in June and carried out in late November. However, neither Chen’s family nor his lawyer were formally notified of the court’s ruling. Chen’s lawyer stated that forensic evidence suggested Chen did not murder a policeman during the protest, as he had been charged. Three other individuals arrested with Chen are serving long prison terms.

Five villagers in Guangxi Province charged with "gathering a crowd to attack a state organ" stood trial on December 5. The incident dated back to June, when some 1,000 villagers staged a sit-in protest against the land conscription involved in the construction of an electrolyte plant which was less than 100 meters from village residences. The police responded by deploying hundreds of police officers to arrest more than a dozen suspected protest organizers, five of which were eventually charged. The court has not announced a verdict yet.

Christian Sect Leader Secretly Executed
SCMP, November 30, 2006
http://china.scmp.com/chitoday/ZZZN9HN47UE.html
A court in Heilongjiang Province secretly executed Xu Shuangfu (徐双富), Li Maoxing (李毛兴) and Wang Jun (王军), leaders of an underground Christian sect, and nine followers last week. They were convicted of murdering members from a rival group, Xu's lawyer said. The US-based Christian Aid Association reported that Li's wife knew of the executions only when she was told by the court to retrieve his cremated remains on Monday. The organization alleged that the local government had tried to cover up evidence of torture by secretly cremating the inmates' bodies.
