Human Rights Defender - Guo Qizhen (郭起真)

家人会见郭起真:郭在狱中遭毒打全身是伤 (Guo Qizhen Tortured in Prison)

guoqizhen/

Rights defender Guo Qizhen (郭起真) was allegedly beaten in prison and injuries were found all over his body, his wife told Radio Free Asia on June 20th. Guo's family had been denied visits to him on the grounds that his case involved triads. Guo's lawyer contended that he was imprisoned for inciting subversion, not his triad connections, and he should be allowed to meet his family in any case. Guo was sentenced to four years' imprisonment last October.
