AFP via YahooNews.com, 09/10/2005
Lu Banglie(吕邦烈), deputy to the Zhijiang People's Congress in Hubei Province, has disappeared after being dragged from his car and beaten up on Saturday while he was on his way to visit Taishi Village in Guangdong Province with Benjamin Joffe Walt, a reporter for The Guardian newspaper. The reporter was removed from the car and taken to a government office in Yuwoutou Township and later released. Mr. Lu's whereabouts are still unknown. One lawyer believes that the local authorities have collaborated with gangsters to orchestrate the incident. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20051009/wl_asia_afp/chinarights
