After three HIV-positive hemophiliacs were detained by police in Shanghai yesterday, 30 hemophilic petitioners gathered outside the municipal government building last night to demand their release. One of the petitioners believed the detention of the trio was related to their attendance at a forum held last month, when they appealed to the health authorities that sold them an HIV-tainted blood product.
