A Tibetan nomad has been freed from detention after allegedly being blinded as a result of severe beating while in the custody of the Sichuan public security authorities. The man, who is named Sogya, was arrested last August along with five other Tibetans after storming into and setting fire to a Chinese-owned slaughterhouse.
