Over 500 police authorities beat hundreds of villagers staging a peaceful protest in Sanjiang Town (三江镇) in Guangdong province, leaving some seriously injured and unconscious. Villagers blame local government officials for the collapse of a river dam which caused extensive property damage to local farmers.
