China Closes Down HIV/AIDS Group
AFP (via YahooNews), October 19, 2006

Xuelianhua (雪莲花), an NGO working on sexually transmitted diseases in Xinjiang, said it had been shut down because local authorities wanted to silence it. The NGO's organizer Chang Kun (常坤) believed the shut down was an act of retaliation, as the group had recently exposed a case in which 19 students who tested positive for hepatitis-B were expelled from school.
