Seven nuns were reportedly convicted following secret trials in the week of April 28 in Sichuan Province. These nuns were sentenced to four to seven years in prison for a protest on March 24, in which protestors shouted slogans such as "Long Life for the Dalai Lama" and "Tibet Belongs to Tibetans." Similarly, Qinghai authorities have recently sentenced three monks to two to three years' imprisonment for their protesting activities.
