Former editor Li Datong (李大同) of the weekly supplement Freezing Point (Bing Dian) will not be allowed to publish his new book in mainland China, even though the authorities have not yet read his manuscript. Freezing Point, a supplement of the China Youth Daily newspaper, was shut down in January of this year because of a controversial article on the history of the Boxer Rebellion. Although the supplement was later allowed to reopen, Li was forced to resign.
