The Intermediate People's Court in Lhasa sentenced 17 people to jail today, with sentences ranging from three years to life in prison for their alleged involvement in the March protests in the city. On the same day, authorities announced the reopening of the Sera Monastery. Other monasteries that were closed will be reopened soon.
